YouthAcorn Youth

Acorn Youth is here to help young people come to know the truth about Jesus Christ and how to live a life devoted to God. Through our youth programme the Good News is presented in a fun and relevant way. We welcome all young people between the ages of 11 – 18 to come and check out one of our groups.

Sundays will never be the same!
RS2 has been running for 4 years at Acorn and is proving to be a very effective programme. It helps young people (11-14’s) to engage with each other and to discover more of how the Christian faith is relevant for their world today.

A new way of doing Sunday!
RS2 can revolutionise how your church relates to its young people.”
Roy Crowne, National Director of Youth for Christ

What our young people say:
“I like RS2 because it is really fun and some of my mates are there, but most of all I like it because we learn about Jesus.”
Caitlin

“The best thing about RS2 is learning about God and having fun at the same time.”
Jordan

Mettle: relevant, relational, revolutionaryMettle
Mettle ‘Mettle’ = ‘courage, spirit, character’ (dictionary definition)
Mettle is not a ‘quick fix’ course on Christianity. It’s more of an ongoing programme, designed to build the essential Christ-like qualities of courage, spirit, and character that will help teenagers make informed choices.

Mettle runs mid-week for two different age groups:
Mettle 1 – Sundays (school years 9-11) 7-8.30p.m.
Mettle 2 – Tuesdays (school years 12+) 7-9.00p.m.

Mettle is relevant / Mettle is relational / Mettle is revolutionary:

Acorn CCGoodbye to Gary and Kay (and Joel)...
At the end of September we said goodbye to Gary, Kay and young Joel (Tate). Kay has been part of Acorn for 14 years and Gary for 10 years (the past 2 years as our youth worker). They have done a great Job alongside the rest of the youth team and we trust that God will bless them (and young Joel) greatly in Alnwick.
